Hyatt Place, a Seaport Boston Hotel

In 2015, Building Envelope Technologies, Inc. was chosen to again work alongside Arrowstreet Inc. and Suffolk Construction for a new construction project, referred to as “Parcel K” (now Hyatt Place, a Seaport Boston hotel). The facility incorporates a hotel, residences, and office/retail space consisting of approximately 500,000 square feet. The buildings are described as conventional steel and concrete composite structures with 11 stories above grade and 3 levels of below grade parking. The building characteristics are further described to include glass and aluminum curtainwall framing systems, precast concrete, glass fiber reinforced concrete, metal panels, and other siding materials. Roof systems are generally low sloped membrane constructions. Other unique considerations include an amenity level deck at the 2nd floor height and common areas of plaza waterproofing overlying the parking garage. BET provided architectural engineering consulting as associated with all aspects of the exterior building enclosure. These services included preconstruction and design assistance, buyout assistance, and services during construction administration, until completion of the project in 2018. BET later conducted water and air testing as needed.
