640 Memorial drive
Building Envelope Technologies (BET) was awarded and presented the Cambridge Preservation Award for our work with assisting on the restoration and renovation of the historic building enclosure at 640 Memorial Drive located in Cambridge, MA. BET surveyed the property to investigate of the windows, surrounding masonry, and terra cotta construction on the Southeast elevation. The leaking conditions occurred on all floors along the Southeast end of the building overlooking the railroad tracks. Pooling water occurred in localized areas along the sills and at the top of the intermediate horizontal rails, at the base of the transom lights.
BET is to assist the architectural team in the preparation of construction documents for repairs and restoration, including concerns associated with the building exterior and then assist in the administration of the contract for construction. BET is honored to have been selected as the building envelope consultant on this historic restoration project and to have this award presented to the company by the Cambridge Historical Commission.
